Colonial Regulation No: 291, the Treasurer did
22
not record the transactions through the
Investment Adjustment Account, but credited the
appreciation direct to Revenue, and in consequence
the Investment Adjustment Account does not appear
in the Annual Abstract Account for the year 1933.
5. With reference to paragraph 6 of my
report on the Accounts for the year 1932, on the
subject of Departmental Banking Accounts and the
question of charges made but not disbursed within
the year by the Head Office of the Treasury I
attach a copy of paragraphs 21 to 26 of the
Auditor's report on the Accounts for the year
1933 relating to this matter.
6. With reference to the liability
"Exchange Adjustment $136,808.00" as recorded in
the Statement of Assets and Liabilities at the
31st of December, 1933, the Auditor reports that
this amount is incorrect in so far that provision
has been made in excess of requirements, when
considering the purpose of this account as
explained in paragraph 3 of the Secretary of State's
Despatch No.431 of the 26th of November, 1925.
